Framed John Charles International Cap

Monday, September 15th, 2008

Below is a unique piece of sporting history of a Leeds legend.

It is a John Charles signed framed international cap from a time when the players would only receive one international cap per season. His international career started in 1950 when he made his debut against Northern Ireland at 18 years and 71 days becoming the youngest ever player to play for Wales. A record that he held until 1992.

He played 38 times for his country scoring 15 goals, his last appearance being in 1965.

One such lot, was a collection of 6 Leeds home programmes as follows

And one away programme from the 1949/50 season at Bradford Park Avenue
